The waves suck lazily at the dock’s pews. Underneath, the aggressive barks of sealions cut through the thick crowd. Standing atop the pier, a girl approaches you. Her eyes alight and smile exposing the slightest hint of a canine. Before you can slink away she’s grabbed your sleeve. She’s hardly the first aggressive vendor you’ve come across.

“Hey mister! Wanna know your future?! Come this way!” The next tug is hard enough to tear your sleeve from your shirt if you choose to move elsewhere.

Life on the surface was decidedly different than what Zagreus was used to down below. Not to say that it wasn't a welcome change, but after getting used to the bright, burning, sun in the sky— the barking of the marine creatures below the boardwalk was a new experience entirely.

Which is perhaps why he almost missed the calling of the young girl, who now tugged at his one sleeve. "What's that? Future?" Zag had to chortle to himself.

"Well... I suppose after all that—" that, of course, being his successful escape finally, "just about anything is possible. All right, lead on."
